Saturday, December 4

I have writers block. So I'm going to be cheap and do a copy and paste. Here is my Christmas carol of the year so far.
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
'Til He appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! O hear the angels' voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friend.
He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Before Him lowly bend!
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim.

And I really like 'Little Drummer Boy ' too. So what if it's imaginative? It's a really neat song I think.
So those are my thoughts on a Saturday morning. I could do a nice long rant on how tired I am of people demonizing Christmas, but I guess I'll be good and not be controversial. Have a good weekend everyone!

  1. I have two young men... maybe even three at times... running around here singing snatches of "Drummer Boy". It sure can get stuck in your head. The littlest one was even pounding on a bucket with some kind of object for emphasis... and then I wonder, "Why did I show them a video clip of someone playing that song??"

  2. But Charlotte...you dud a lyric cut-and-paste last time! I like "O Holy Night" too--actually, we're planning on singing it (in Thai) for our Cell Group Christmas Party. You could post some pictures of my favorite nephew... (wait, this is the pot calling the kettle black)
    ....เมื่อคืนวันนั้นเป็นคืนสำคัญทั่วโลกาคือเป็นเวลาที่พระคริสต์ได้ประสูติ...
